In 2008 SFA Productions produced the first season of "So You Think You Can Dance Canada", a series chronicling the discovery of Canada's next international dance superstar. In its remarkable first season on CTV, "So You Think You Can Dance Canada" became the most-watched new program of the year, attracting more viewers than all other new Canadian and American series. It also won the Gemini Award for Best Variety Program or Series and it's host, Leah Miller, won the Gemini for Best Performance or Host in a Variety Program or Series. Season 2's ratings surpassed those of Season 1, averaging 1.76 Million viewers. The series gained its second Gemini nomination for Best Variety Program or Series. In Season 3, the series had continued viewer success as the show's popularity grew. Once again, it received a Gemini nomination for the third consecutive year for Best Variety Program or Series. In addition, Lee Kinoshita-Bevington was also nominated for Best Costume Design. Season 4 completed production on September 11, 2011, consistently winning its time slot with weekly ratings averaging over one million viwers. |
